Season 53

With Candace Luciano as Marilyn
August 4-10, 2017
This was a special summer fundraiser to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the death of one of Hollywood's most famous actresses, Marilyn Monroe. Her apparent suicide, like her life itself, continues to be a mystery, shrouded in rumor and political intrigue.

This one-woman show offered audiences the chance to share that final evening, listening in as Marilyn remembers her triumphs and regrets, her many loves and her Faustian bargains for fame.

September 29 – October 8, 2017

A glorious and biting comedy about friends, friendships and aging in the 21st century. "Entertaining and deeply satisfying!"

Set in the Bristol Place Assisted Living Facility, this glorious and biting new comedy from David Lindsay-Abaire centers around Abby, who takes pride in her residence in one of the most coveted rooms in the rest home.

Things turn sour quickly when she must take in Marilyn, a new roommate to share her precious space. In a satirical conflict of territory and control, Lindsay-Abaire spins a benign, typically mundane setting into an absurdist, colorful battleground.

This high-stakes comedy examines our expectations of what it means to grow old in twenty-first century America, and what happens when a sense of possession collides with a mania of obsession.

Cast: Georgette Richmond (Abby), Barbara Pruitt (Marilyn), Zane Pumiglia  (Scotty), Linda Freeman (Colleen), Al Kirkland (Derek/Butler), Johan Dirkes (Lewis/Clown), Damyn Young (Benjamin)

RIPCORD was generously underwritten by Marion Blackmer, in loving memory of her husband, John.

March 23 – April 1, 2018

Part telenovela, part fantasy, part social commentary, this tender comedy tackles love, life and death with audacious humor.

A romantic comedy about loss, love, change and redemption, The Clean House is both whimsical and touching. A serious career-oriented doctor, Lane, has hired a quirky Brazilian maid. The only problem is that the maid, Matilde, hates to clean. Instead, she longs to be a comedienne. Lane is deserted by her husband, Charles, who leaves her for his mistress, Ana, a passionate, older Brazilian woman upon whom he recently performed a mastectomy. Sarah Ruhl's enchanting play reminds us that there is humor and beauty to be found in life's most unlikely messes.

Cast: Amaranta Santos (Matilde), Candace Luciano (Lane), Patteye Simpson (Virginia), Peter Luciano (Charles), Tracy Foy (Ana)
